hames & Associates is a service oriented accounting firm providing
professional accounting and consulting services to small businesses
and the healthcare industry, with a strong emphasis in
long-term care.
The firm is headquartered in Magee, a central Mississippi city
just 42 miles south of Jackson and 45 miles north of Hattiesburg.
Thames & Associates' central location offers
convenient access to the firm's 400 plus clients positioned in many
different states. Our second office opened in 2000 at 120 Greenview
Place, Richland, Mississippi-just 4 miles south of
downtown Jackson.
Today, Thames & Associates has a staff of 6, including two Certified
Public Accountants, serving a variety of clients including
Medicaid/Medicare long-term care facilities, ICF/MRs, private
residential treatment facilities, physician practices, along with
both individual and small business tax and financial clients.
James W. (Bill) Thames, CPA, has over 36 years of experience in
public accounting including auditing, tax preparation and planning,
financial statement presentation, forecasts and projections,
budgeting and accounting software. He has extensive knowledge and
experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and has spoken
nationally on Medicaid Case Mix Reimbursement. He
has served as past vice-chairman of the Mississippi Case Mix
Reimbursement Committee. Currently he serves on the Mississippi
Medicaid Long Term Care workgroup, and as a reimbursement
adviser to the Mississippi Health Care Association. He completed a
bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in
accounting at The University of Southern Mississippi. Bill's
hometown is Magee, Mississippi.
